Monday, Nov. 28th

We continued working our way through the trial in the novel with an ANALYSIS of Martin Luther King Jr.’s I Have A Dream and Atticus’ summation speech on pages 203-205.  On Tuesday, Dec. 6th you have a choice of writing an essay ANALYZING Atticus’ summation speech OR  writing an ORIGINAL SPEECH of your own on an injustice in our world.  Either way, you will need to demonstrate your ability to identify or use LOGICAL, ETHICAL, and EMOTIONAL appeal, and rhetorical devices such as metaphors, similes, alliteration, allusion, analogy, imagery, and anaphora.   You may plan your writing, but the actual writing will be done IN CLASS.  No published sources or internet use allowed.

Read chapters 23-26 for next class.
